The article provides a detailed analysis of the economic potential of Russia’s new regions, focusing on their mineral resources and the industrial development of key mineral commodities. The article emphasizes the importance of railway logistics as a critical element in integrating resource flows into the Russian economic system. The study examines factors such as the speed of raw material delivery, the capacity of railway routes, and the existing infrastructure limitations that affect transportation efficiency. It is emphasized that the potential for using mineral resources is determined not only by the volume of reserves, but also by the state of the transport infrastructure, which acts as a structural factor in the spatial development of regions. Railway transport not only provides connectivity between new regions and the country’s industrial centers, but also allows for the scalability of production, enabling efficient growth in production volumes and ensuring timely delivery of raw materials to processing facilities and markets. In addition, special attention is given to the industrial potential of new regions and the influx of new population, as well as their assessment for the period up to 2030. A systematic analysis reveals that without the development and modernization of the railway network, the full integration of new regions into the Russian economy is impossible, making transportation a crucial factor for sustainable economic growth and maximizing resource potential. Thus, railway logistics serves as the foundation for regional economic connectivity and guarantees the successful industrial development of mineral resources.
