Economic and geopolitical importance of cooperation between the Republic of Buryatia and China

Currently, there is activation of the Russian-Chinese relations in all areas of cooperation. In this regard, the experience of geopolitical and economic cooperation between the Republic of Buryatia and China is interesting. Basing on the study of the complex historical, cultural and economic material, the author has analyzed the characteristics of the region as a strategic gate of Russia to East Asia. The article emphasizes that Buryatia is an important part of inter-civilizational interaction. The feature of the cooperation between regions of two countries is mutual enrichment of different cultures, their involvement in the global flow of cultural ties, while maintaining the traditional culture of the countries and regions. On the basis of the conducted study, the author proposes to consider the Buryat Republic as a «bridge» of Russia to the countries of Asian-Pacific Region and North-East Asia for the development of partnerships, finding new markets for sale of the Russian products, overcoming the whole raw material orientation of exports. In the article we formulate the main directions of political, cultural and foreign economic cooperation between Russia and China, priority forms of interaction between the border regions of two countries.
