Economy of the era of “stagnation” in Anglo-Saxon historiography

The article analyzes the economic situation in the Soviet Union during the era that was named «Stagnation» (1964-1985) by Mikhail Gorbachev. The authors evaluate the materials of the Anglo-Saxon historical science. The researches of such Anglo-American scientists as Robert John Service, Richard Sakwa, Edwin Bacon, Mark Harrison, Archibald Haworth Brown, Philip Hanson and others are considered. The conclusions of these foreign experts are quite interesting and useful at the present stage of the development of historical knowledge. They can be used while conducting a comparative analysis of the economic situation of this period.
