Economic and geographic overview of Kyrgyzstan. Economic transformation of Kyrgyzstan in the post-Soviet period

The article analyzes the level of economic development of Kyrgyzstan, the economic transformation of the country in the post-Soviet period and the most important economic problems that hinder the sustainable development of the state. The article analyzes the potential of the country's integration within the Eurasian Economic Community. The following major social and economic problems of Kyrgyzstan have been identified: small size of the economy and the domestic market, low level of most macroeconomic indicators (such as GDP per capita), low profitability of a significant share of Kyrgyz enterprises, high dependence on foreign investment, which is mainly directed to gold mining, development of transport infrastructure and development of intermediary trade.
