The article is devoted to the economic and statistical analysis of the development stages of the SEZ, a deterrent factor - tax rates and preferences for special economic zones of different countries. Based on the analysis, factors that influence the development of the SEZ are singled out, a conclusion is drawn about the unattractiveness of the preferential tax regime.
