Digital radiography is widely used in modern veterinary diagnostics. It is one of the main methods of visual diagnostics of animals. Radiography allows to obtain images at any desired dose level, and these images can be processed and displayed in various ways. As for the study of the urinary system, overview radiographs of the abdominal cavity when evaluating the urinary tract in rabbits are not always informative. For this reason, the methods of contrast examination are a valuable diagnostic test in this type of animal with a pathology of the urinary system. The purpose of this study was to describe digital radiopaque urography and determine the phases of the urogram in rabbits, against the background of experimental acute urinary retention after 24, 48 and 72 hours, from the beginning of the experiment. The average start time of the nephrographic and pyelographic phases (24, 48, 72 hours) was 11.13 ± 0.23 seconds and 1.53 ± 0.08 minutes. The average time during which the contrast agent was visible in the bladder was 1.67 ± 0.06 minutes. During excretory urography, the beginning of the nephrographic phase, the pyelographic phase and the intervals from the introduction of a contrast agent to the contrast enhancement of the bladder during excretory urography against the background of acute urinary retention were established. The analysis of hematological and biochemical parameters showed that, taking into account the trends of increasing red blood cells, white blood cells and serum creatinine by 24 hours, in absolute numbers it was insignificant and did not go beyond the physiological values. However, by 72 hours, all indicators exceeded the physiological norm, which may indicate intoxication. A comparative analysis of the obtained data was carried out.
