The paper presents the results of experiments on radio sounding of forest vegetation by meter wavelengths. The influence of heterogeneous forest environment and hilly ground surface on the propagation of lateral waves is investigated. The research is based on the analysis of experimentally obtained distance dependencies of signal level.
