Experimental determination of the parameters of a drowned jet to obtain an emulsion waterflow

Бесплатный доступ

Drowned jets are used in various fields of human activity; they are jets formed as a result of the outflow of one liquid (phase) into the medium of another liquid (medium). The result of the outflow is significantly influenced by the physical properties of liquids, the geometric dimensions of the devices from which the outflow occurs, as well as the speed of the outflow. When one of the immiscible liquids flows out into the medium of the other, so-called emulsions are formed, which are used in various technical devices and technological processes. The resulting emulsion must meet the requirements for obtaining a quality product. When preparing substitutes for whole milk, a mazut fuel emulsion, used as fuel, is dispersed in boilers for the preparation of liquid feed; it is necessary that the emulsion is stable, and the requirement for complete combustion and reduction of emissions into the atmosphere is also imposed on water-fuel emulsions. These requirements are met provided that the particles of the phase formed as a result of the preparation of the emulsion are microscopic in size. There are many different ways to prepare emulsions. In the study, the process of preparing an emulsion by injecting one liquid into the medium of another liquid is considered. The size and stability of the emulsion depends on the mode of motion of the phase in the medium.
