Experimental studies of the operation of a prototype universal oil press

The purpose of the research is to determine the main technical and economic indicators of the universal oil press. According to the patent of the Russian Federation, design documentation was developed and an experimental plant for cold-pressing vegetable oil was manufactured. The experimental setup consists of two parts that implement the main pressing operations, the first is pressing with a screw press, the second is pressing in a hydraulic cylinder. According to the results of the pilot test of the universal oil press, the optimal technological parameters of single-stage double cold pressing were determined. The total oil output during two-stage cold pressing depends on the rotational speed of the pressing screw and, consequently, the rotational speed of the drive motor shaft. At a rotation speed of the pressing screw at 43 rpm, the total oil output was higher than at a rotation speed of 51 rpm and amounted to 37.2%. The residual oil content of the mill cake after two-stage pressing was 6.1%.
