Exports of Russian regions in the context of the pandemic

In the research, based on the data of the Russian Export Center collected over 2019-2020 and the data of Rospotrebnadzor collected using the Yandex Cloud (Data Lens) over March-December 2020, the export of regions of the Russian Federation in the context of the spread of the coronavirus infection has been analyzed and the main trends in foreign trade have been identified. Exports in 2020 decreased by more than 20% compared to 2019. Exports of fuel resources decreased significantly by more than 35%. Exports of precious stones and metals almost doubled Over 2019-2020, the main consumers of domestic exports have remained the same. To simulate the consequences of the spread of coronavirus infection on the export volumes of the regions of the Russian Federation, an analysis of panel data using the least squares method has been used, as a result of which the negative impact of the spread of coronavirus infection on the export of the regions of the Russian Federation has been confirmed.
