An immunohistochemical study using monoclonal antibodies to West Nile virus showed nuclear and cytoplasmic expression of antigens, which was most pronounced in alveolar macrophages and the endothelium of blood capillaries in the pulmonary interalveolar septa group of animals with clinical signs of West Nile fever on the 7th day from the moment of infection.
