This article summarizes modern fundamental and experimental knowledge about the effectiveness, possible mechanisms and expediency of using an extract of plant origin as feed components. The object of the study was the cysts and Artemia nauplii (Artemia salina) of the Altai population. The aim of the study was to study the effect of grape seed proanthocyanide extract (GSPE) on the incubation activity and bioencapsulation properties of Artemia nauplii. The objective of the experiment was to investigate GSPE at concentrations of 7 and 14 mg/ml as an activator and antioxidant. The incubation of cysts was carried out by the standard method in Weiss devices without decapsulation. As a result of the experiments, an increase in the hatching of nauplius was found with a simultaneous increase in the antioxidant status. The hatching percentage was determined 24 hours and 36 hours after the start of incubation by counting free-floating nauplii in the field of view of a microscope. The yield of live Artemia nauplii ranged from 65 to 85%. The obtained samples of live artemia nauplius were examined for the total concentration of water-soluble antioxidants (TCWA) both in native form and after drying at 60 °C. The level of antioxidants in native samples was 0.575-0.661 mg/g, after drying - 3.08-3.64 mg/g. The results of the study expand knowledge about the impact of methods for obtaining live feed for aquaculture by adding ninety-five percent extract of grape seed proanthocyanides (Vitis vinifera L.) to the incubation solution. This makes it possible to increase the incubation efficiency and antioxidant activity of free-floating Artemia nauplii, which can increase the nutritional value of starter feeds for fish larvae.
