The article is a continuation of the series of publications by the authors in the journal “Vestnik MGUKI” on the problem of the essence and characteristics of modern sociocultural wars. Extremism is considered as a product of these wars, as a crime within the framework of “hybrid” wars. This includes armed “trench warfare,” armed sabotage, “culture ban” actions, and restrictions on sports interaction, mechanisms of “existential rejection,” fake information, and even facts about the use of bacteriological factors. The article provides specific events of extremism in the 20th and 21st centuries. Using their example, the connection of modern extremism with fascist nationalist ideology and actions is substantiated, and the topic of extremism is updated in the conditions of the Internet age, the global network and specialized chats, and their functional activation among young people. The article provides data on sociometry of Moscow schoolchildren, materials from a meeting of the Duma committees on security and youth policy. Against this background, approaches to dampening proextremism among young people are analyzed: the formation of patriotism, love for the Motherland, respect and pride for the Fatherland. The article highlights the main contradictions that do not allow today to increase work to counter extremism; An approximate set of sociocultural activities has been developed to prevent the conditions for the emergence of extremism among young people.
