The article examines the existential issues of the novel by the Armenian writer M.S. Pestrosian - "The House in which ...". This problem is revealed in two aspects - through the analysis of the storyline and the metaphorical imagery presented in the novel and through the consideration of the style and manner of the author of the writer. The main concepts expressed in the symbolic images of the work are analyzed: the essence and existence, rational and irrational principles, the outer and inner world, the "exterior" and "inside" of the House, the motif of the shadow, the theme of childhood. The essence of the allegorical images of the novel's characters with talking nicknames is considered. The allusions to mythological and literary sources present in the novel are analyzed.
