Electoral preferences of the youth of the Russian regions in terms of its political loyalty and protest potential

The authors present the results of a conducted sociological study. The purpose of the study was to identify the correlation between various groups of young people who consider themselves to be loyal and protest groups, with a pronounced active or passive attitude towards politics and electoral preferences. A feature of the authors’ approach to the study is not only the analysis of the self-assessment of survey participants according to these characteristics, but also the identification of gender groups, as well as the distribution of loyal and active models of youth attitudes towards politics in various districts of the Russian Federation. The authors note a low level of overall attractiveness of both parliamentary and non-parliamentary parties for survey participants, while those that correlate with the priority values of youth are in the lead in youth opinion. However, the authors are convinced that the irrational components of the political preferences of young students predominate, due to the low level of their political participation.
