Studied the brain electrical activity and hemispheric interaction among Internet addicts and Internet independent persons. In Internet addicts during quiet wakefulness revealed a significant disruption of EEG wave activity. In the resting state present low amplitude, irregular alpha rhythm with a predominance of low index sharp waves, mainly in the left prefrontal region. EEG Internet-dependent characteristic of the displacement of spectral amplitude characteristics in the predominance of delta, teta and fast beta waves. Localization of slow-wave activity in the left hemisphere of Internet addicts in a state of rest, the presence of beta activity with a high severity index beta2- subband in the right hemisphere shows hemispheric brain activation. Unstable functional state of the brain Inter- net-dependent reduction is also seen in response to the active functional assays.
