With the use of electroneuromyography method the state of peripheral nerves in lower and upper extremities has been studied at patients of the following groups: patients with long-term working exposed to mercury compounds (N=47); patients with the first determined diagnosis of chronic mercury intoxication (CMI) (N=12); 45 patients – workers with diagnosis of CMI (post-exposure period 8,5±2,6 years). The disorders revealed of motor nervous component in the 1 group were displayed as subthreshold rate reductions of impulse transport in the lower extremities and as a local demyelinized injury of the upper extremities. Then the aggravation of disorders revealed was observed. In studying the sensoric component in the persons of the 1 group the changes were found to display either the axonal or the demyelinized injuries and in studying patients of the 2 nd and 3 rd group the injuries were registered as the axonal-demyelinized type. The involvement of sensoric axons of the peripheral nerves into the pathological process was mainly observed to the occurrence at workers with long-term working period and prevalence of motor disorders was revealed after some time period.
