Electronic voting is a necessity for digitalization of the electoral process of the Russian Federation

The procedures of electronic and remote voting in Russia are analyzed. It is proposed to issue electronic identity cards (or biometric passports) to citizens and to introduce a system of remote voting via the Internet. Such reform will reduce the cost of the elections and make them more honest and accessible to the population. Ultimately, e-voting will help to establish e-democracy in Russia.
