Electronic archives on the history of science

This article presents the results and prospects of creating historical-research-oriented information systems. By way of example, a systematic approach to the creation of electronic archives has been developed at the Institute of Informatics Systems, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The approach was developed on the basis of a number projects and has proved its efficiency. The emphasis is on application of information technology to historical research and development of the historical factography technology.
