Electronic instabilities in crystals of transition metal compounds

The survey presents a concept of the physical picture of electronic switching in crystalline materials. The range of objects includes but is not limited to oxides, sulfides, chalcogenides of transition metals, and high-temperature superconductors. The emphasis is placed onto applied technical potential of these effects in contemporary nanoelectronics.
