Electronic notary in Russia

This concept of electronic notaries in Russia is one of the manifestations of the trend towards digitalization and the expansion of the use of electronic document management tools. The relevance of the study is due to the lack of a uniform approach in understanding and interpreting the term "electronic notary", and the presence of a number of problems that complicate the implementation of the concept in a practical plane. The article examines the content of the term "electronic notary", evaluates the current state of implementation of the concept of the same name in Russia and identifies the problems associated with the implementation. The author draws conclusions that electronic notary should be considered as a generalizing concept and the form of its practical implementation is a unified information system of notaries (EIS). Key problems in the implementation of electronic notaries, according to the author, are associated with ensuring notarial secrecy and compliance with the rules for processing personal data when using electronic document management tools.
