EMG-characteristics of functional status of lower limb muscles in patients with lateral patellar dislocation before surgical treatment and in different periods after it

The effect of surgical treatment of lateral patellar dislocation according to RISC "RTO" techniques on the functional status of femoral and leg muscles was assessed in 12 patients at the age of 6-22 years using methods of global and stimulation electromyography. There was associate 4-13 cm shortening of the corresponding limb in 6 patients. M-response amplitude decrease in the muscles of the limb operated on was revealed which was connected with surgery factors and temporary limitation of patients' motor activity. There was more marked reaction of neuromuscular structures to surgery and adynamia in patients with initial deficiency of the shortened limb muscular loading.
