The article focuses on a comparative analysis of the level of personal maturity and emotional state of the two mothers taking care after their adult children who have suffered the first psychotic episodes. The main purpose of the study was detailed observation of the dynamics of emotional and personal differences of personalities and their attitudes to the ill depending on the level of their personal maturity. It was revealed that in case of low level of personal maturity there is the problem of emotional acceptance by the mother, which is revealed by projective methods. Moreover, in the situation with a low level of personal maturity the respondent shows controversial results - verbal (socially approved) acceptance of the relative and non-verbal (unconscious) rejection. In case of high level of personal maturity the contradictions between conscious and unconscious attitudes towards the sick relatives are not detected.
