Endogenic auto-rosette formation in peripheral blood with patients suffering from community-acquired pneumonia of different ages under conditions of a large industrial region

In order to examine the reaction of peripheral blood cells with people of different ages suffering from pneumonia, 116 patients (80 male and 36 female) suffering from community-acquired bacillary pneumonia were surveyed. These patients were divided into three age groups: 18-44, 45–59 and 60–74 years old, the control group was composed of 30 apparently healthy people (16 male and 14 female). With all patients under surveillance we examined the phenomenon of intravascular rosette formation using the method of D. I. Byeltchenko (1990). Pneumonia patients of all age groups demonstrate a certain increase in rosette forming activity of neutrophils and monocytes, thus showing the mobilization of these cells resulting from progressing inflammation.
