Objective: to find out endocrine mechanisms of adaptation of gastric secretion to muscle loading. The study of fasted, basal and stimulated secretion at rest and after 30-minute cycle ergometer loading (vol. 36 900 kg/m) was conducted on 40 men aged 18-24 with fractional sounding. Together with fasted state and after 15 minutes of stimulation we measured content of gastrin, insulin, adrenocorticotropin, somatotropic hormone, aldosterone, parathormone, calcitonin, cortisone and testosterone. We found out significant difference of gastroce secretion level in sportsmen and non-sportsmen in response to cycle ergometer loading. Fasted pH of gastric secretion in sportsmen was 1.51 ± 0.19, after loading 1.67 ± 0.15. Control group had 1.79 ± 0.18, after loading 3.55 ± 0.64. Accordingly at rest sportsmen had gastrin 36.3 ± 4.1 and 24.3 ± 4.8 pg/ml. Control group had gastrin 55.0 ± 5.7 and 128.0 ± 81.0 pg/ml. Together with fall-off in acid release control group showed significant increase in gastrin concentration after loading. These indices in sportsmen were insignificant. There are also differences in concentration of adrenocorticotropin, somatotropic hormone, calcitonin and parathormone. Hormonal shifts emerging at muscle loading induce differences in fasted, basal and stimulated gastric secretion in people adapted (sportsmen) and non-adapted (control group) to sufficient muscle loading. Muscle loading increases production of polypeptide hormones with expressed catabolic directivity that leads to suppression of gastric secretion. This effect is observed most clearly in control group.
