This article presents the main provisions of the vortex interaction hypothesis and physical processes that reflect the physical essence of the gas flow energy separation process in a vortex tube due to intense turbulent heat transfer from a forced to a free vortex. A technique is proposed for refining the calculated characteristics of the temperature of cold and hot flows in a vortex tube due to gas-dynamic and thermodynamic corrections. The refined calculation method makes it possible to achieve a good agreement between the temperature of the cooled gas and the experimental values.
