Wine tourism in Dagestan: problems and development prospects

In order to develop wine-making and viticulture in the Republic of Dagestan it is increasingly considered the possibility of elaboration of enotourism and a wine cluster. The article deals with possibilities and problems arising when the respective Republican special-purpose programs on the viticulture development are implemented. In particular, the author states what measures have been undertaken for revival of the industry, and compares the results with success of the Krasnodar Krai in this field. The author suggests to take into account the factor of Islam and radicalism spreading in the Republic of Dagestan, which in prospect may impact substantially these processes towards complete refusal of the wine-making.
