The purpose of the research is to study the enterobiocenosis of the gastrointestinal tract of piglets with diarrheal symptom complex and to determine the sensitivity of the isolated microflora to antibacterial drugs. The objects of the study were piglets from birth to 2 months of Large White breed and Landrace with a diarrheal symptom complex. Fecal samples obtained from the rectum with a sterile swab served as material for the research. The studies were carried out by conventional microbiological methods. As a result of the research, it was found that the leading role in the enterobiocenosis of the gastrointestinal tract of piglets with diarrheal symptom complex belongs to enterobacteria. Microbial associations of microorganisms were isolated from 38 samples (76%) of faeces obtained from sick piglets. Among the isolated cultures, Escherichia coli (O26, O8, O33) and Proteus vulgaris prevailed, both in monoculture and in various combinations with other conditionally pathogenic microorganisms. Associations of microorganisms were represented by: Escherichia coli + Proteus vulgaris (28.9%), Escherichia coli + Enterobacter aerogenes (23.7%), Escherichia coli + Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis + Enterococcus fecalis and Klebsiella pneumoniae + Citrobacter freundii (10.5% each) and Escherichia coli + Enterococcus fecalis (7.9%). Combinations represented by three types of opportunistic microorganisms were least identified: Proteus mirabilis + Klebsiella pneumonia + Citrobacter freundii and Escherichia coli + Proteus vulgaris + Enterococcus fecalis 5.3% and 2.6%, respectively. In the monoculture, Escherichia coli prevailed over other types of microorganisms; the frequency of its isolation was 41.7%. In addition to E. coli, Proteus vulgaris (25%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (25%) and Citrobacter freundii (8.3%) were isolated in monoculture. Most of the isolated microorganisms showed high sensitivity to antibacterial drugs from the groups of cephalosporins and fluoruquinolones.
