Epigraphs as non-textual detail in the novel of Vladimir Lis «Century of Yakov»

The object of attention in the article became determination of role of epigraphs as nontextual elements in the novel of V. Lys «Century of Yakov». Investigated their influence on understanding of author's plan, ideological features of novel, forming of estimation of protagonist Yakov M^h, which became express of the individualized version of national history of XX century, underlining of leitmotiv ideas, hidden contents of novel etc. Proved, that content of epigraphs opens up only in the process of their inclusion in structure of the novelistic text.
