An episode in the history of the Antioch Patriarchate and the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society. Letter from Antioch Patriarch Gregory IV to A. A. Dmitrievsky belonging to the collection of the IOM RAS

The article presents a congratulatory letter by Patriarch Gregory IV of Antioch addressed to A. A. Dmitrievsky, Secretary of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society. The author introduces into scientific circulation previously unknown archival materials. This letter belongs to the Archive of Orientalists (archive collection of the IOPS) Institute of Oriental Manuscripts Russian Academy of Sciences and has not been published before. The article briefly outlines the historical context and examines the circumstances of writing the published letter.
