The episode changing future: Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim and his fight against “witch hunting”

The article discusses the fight of German humanist Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim against Inquisition and his position in “Quarrel of Women.” Special attention is paid to his defense of an old woman from the village Woipi not far from Metz, who was accused of witchcraft, as well as to his writing “The Nobility and Preeminence of the Female Sex.” It is concluded that Agrippa played an important role in “Quarrel of Women” and his influence on weakening the might of Inquisition.
