The episode of Seidyak's and Karacha capture in Tobol'sk in 1588 in the history of relations between the Russian authories and Siberian Tatar elite (on the written and pictorial sources)

Purpose: This article analyzes the events of captivity Tatar prince Seidyak, nobleman Karacha and Kazakh Sultan Uraz Muhammad during their visit to Tobol’sk fortress in 1588. Results: The historical situation in the Siberian Khanate after the defeat of the Siberian Tatar army to command of Khan Kuchum in a battle against Russian Cossacks under the command Ataman Yermak on Chuvash Cape was presented. The contradictions among Tatar elite, which after the defection of Khan Kuchum Isker that led to the actual disintegration of the Siberian Khanate, were investigated. The relationship of the Russian authorities in Western Siberia with different groups of the ruling elite of the Siberian Tatars, who were fighting for control of the Tatar population, was analyzed. The article presents Russian sources about inviting a representative of the Russian administration Danila Chulkov the Tatar and Kazakh leaders to a banquet in Tobolsk fortress. In the annals of Russian Siberian emphasizes that Tatar and Kazakh noble guests experienced concerns about his visit to the Russian fortress, so offered to run inside the ostrog knows his detachment, consisting of five hundred men. However the Russian authorities managed to persuade Tatar leaders bring along inside the stockade only one hundred of his soldiers. The article presents the analysis of the behavior of the Tatar and Kazakh guests during the feast, and negotiations held only to divert their attention, while the real purpose of this invitation was to capture them in captivity. The estimation of insolvency those occasions, which led to the capture of the Tatar and Kazakh guest. The value of capture several Tatar and Kazakh leaders were determined. These leaders wanted to continue the fight supporters of the restoration of the Siberian Khanate. The historical events contributed to the fact that some members of the noble families of Siberian Tatars chose to side of the Russian authorities at the end of the XVI century. The article studied multi-figure compositions of Remezov Chronicle, which depict scenes feast in the Provincial house and capture of the Tatar and Kazakh guests. The first of these compositions Tatar and Kazakh guests are depicted together with D. Chulkov. They are sitting at a table on the wide veranda facing the wall of fortress. There are with three towers and domes. The group of soldiers in helmets with spears in their hands were depicted inside the fortress next to the building in which the invited guests to the feast noble. One of them is shown at the waist with a curved saber blade. Probably as depicted Tatar warriors who have come together with their leaders inside the fortress. Outside the jail walls shows a group of soldiers in helmets peaked with spears in their hands. One of them shows a musket on his shoulder. Two soldiers dressed in armor. Judging by the presence of handguns in one of the soldiers, this group shows Russian soldiers left behind the walls of prison. Tatar guests are sitting at the table in the room shown in turbans and long-skirted with crowns coats. One of them holds a vial. In the center of the table sits a guest in his coat and high cap with a wide brim. He also holds the cup. D. Chulkov shown hatless in his coat, belted sash. On the second track people without hats and weapons being captured Tatar guests. One of them is trying to jump out the window. Another fell to the ground and throw up their hands. Tartar warriors were pressed to the wall outside the stockade. They are shot from bows and spears held ready. Their attack Russian servitors swords and spears and shooting guns. Conclusion: These figures are an important complement to the chronicle details about this event, which played an important role in the history of the supporters of the recovery of the Siberian Tatar khanate.
