The influence of the Yumaguzino reservoir on the state of the geological environment and erosion processes in the area of the dam left-bank abutment was studied. This site is composed of the Devonian karst limestone, which can reduce the erosion resistance. Observations of filtration processes in the body of the dam allow us to determine changes in hydraulic gradients, and based on this, to conclude about the stability of the soil mass in this area. The steep slopes in the area of the left-bank abutment can provoke landslide processes. To assess the possible danger, it is necessary to determine the quantitative characteristics of the resistance of the soil to shear in the bottom prism, as well as the stability of the bottom prism of the dam.
