Sketch of modernization of an American school: Joseph Neef's educational activities

Joseph Neef made a successful attempt to introduce the progressive achievements of theory and practice of his master J.G. Pestalozzi to the United States' public education system in the early nineteenth century. The article is devoted to analysis of the sociocultural and pedagogical problems related to this process.
