The relevance of solving a problem of aesthetic escapism inherent to contemporary school students (emotional withdrawal into the virtual world of illusions) is dictated by the need to overcome alienation and emotional “deafness” of the child. Utilitarianism of contemporary Russian system of education, which was transformed into the industry of educational services, is a cause of escapism development in school students. Domination of pragmatic methods of teaching and covert trampling of aesthetic school subjects are facilitative in escapism spread and enhancement. Students devoid of any possibility to gain personal aesthetic experience and proficiency in aesthetic communication in the real world find emotional and sensual channels of communication in the virtual world. Such practices lead to the process of aesthetic and ethical values’ deformation, which results in infantilism and antisocial behaviour. To solve the problem the author suggested that contemporary pedagogical community employed new powerful social and information technologies more adequately, reassessed the role and importance of aesthetic subjects included into the school curriculum, and above all, participated more actively in emotional communication of its students in real life.
