Ethnic movement in the art of Mordovia: the parameters of seeing ethnic past

The article analyses the conditions addressing the culture and art to their historical and mythological basis. Along with the identification of mythological motifs and cultural metaphors, it analyses the cultural content of reconstructed traditional forms and methods of their inclusion in the neo-traditionalist discourse of contemporary art in Mordovia; it studied the semantics of specific reactualized characters and images.
