The article deals with the influence of mitigation as a communicative category on such traditionally allocated speech descriptions of German communicative behavior as «explicitness» and «rigidity». Using the results of questioning and interrogation of the informants, the author analyses the mitigation strategies and tactics in the German linguistic culture.
