Archaeological antiquities associated with the population of the Abrau peninsula (northern Caucasus piedmont area on the Black Sea coastline) such as the Sindi, the Cercetae and the Toreatae share many common features and for this reason have been analyzed collectively. At the same time, available data on the natural and geographical characteristics of the region, distribution of archaeological sites dating to the 8th-2nd centuries BC and specific traits of the material culture can be used to single out three local variants and trace development of the ethnopolitical situation during this period.
Kingdom of the cimmerian bosporus, early iron age, sindi, cercetae, toreatae, burial rite, chronology, local variant
