Ethnological conception of eurasianism

The article discusses the main statements of ethnological conception of classical Eurasianism, important for understanding the identity of Russia as a Eurasian civilization. The complex approach of the Eurasianism leaders to justification of the issues of ethnic history of the Russian people has been highlighted. In particular the ideas of P.N. Savitsky, N.S. Trubetskoy and G.V. Vernadsky are analyzed; they focused on the Eastern roots of the Russian ethnicity and Eurasian culture based on the history of not only of the Russian people, but of the Eastern Slavs as well.
