Teaching a foreign language in a higher educational institution through Abkhazian folk pedagogy

This article provides theoretical justification of ethnic content of teaching foreign languages in higher education with the description of existing practice, implementation of the project activities for the realization of the potential of the Abkhazian folk pedagogy. The author argues that the problem of creating a course of ethnopedagogic content in the conditions of the Republic of Abkhazia for the stage of higher education has not yet found its solution. The undeveloped methodological foundations of the relevant course, determined the relevance of such research, the object of which is the process of teaching foreign languages, taking into account the ethnopedagogic component of the content of higher education on the example of the Republic of Abkhazia. In conclusion, the author presents the proven information that the level of foreign language communicative competence of students, their readiness for intercultural interaction will be provided on the condition that the content of foreign language teaching includes components of folk pedagogy, Abkhazian in particular.
