The Kyrgyz national ethnopsycho-pedagogic determinants contributing to the development of life meaningful orientations were considered in the article. The psychological method of analyzing the system of traditional knowledge of the Kyrgyz people giving an opportunity to understand the unique features of ethnopedagogy was described. Actual ideas of traditional knowledge holders about the meaning of life were defined by using the author's questionnaire. The work presents the results of the analysis of the development level of self-knowledge and self-understanding skills of traditional knowledge holders, which are the main necessary features of personality activity for the development of life meaningful orientations, they are given in comparison with the ideas of young people who do not possess such knowledge.
