Ethno-social features of obesity and diabetes mellitus morbidity among residents of Russian European North

The comparative study of obesity and diabetes mellitus morbidity in different ethno-social groups of city dwellers and villagers of Circumpolar area and territories equated to Circumpolar area was conducted. It was shown that during period from 1996 till 2006 the incidence rates of obesity and diabetes mellitus increased significantly and morbidity rate of diabetes exceeded average values for Russia. The correlations between obesity, diabetes mellitus and its types, migration processes, medical help provision (as number of doctors of different clinical specialties), average income in populations and unemployment rate were analyzed.
