Evolution of demonstrative consumption from the position of features of the production method

The article reflects the socio-economic phenomenon of conspicuous consumerism on the basis of establishing a correlation between the historical modes of production and the evolution of the forms of manifestation of the analyzed phenomenon. The author comes to the conclusion that with the improvement of production technologies and the growth of the role of money in economic life, the methods of conspicuous consumption deepen and expand, entailing the degradation of the moral qualities of society.
