Эволюция дискурса об изменении климата и его влияние на национальную безопасность США

Представление об изменении климата претерпело решительную трансформацию в Соединенных Штатах с тех пор, как эта проблема стала приобретать все большее значение в конце 1980-х гг. Статья анализирует эволюцию дискуссии об изменении климата в общественно-политических кругах Соединенных Шатов, и как она повлияла на восприятие новых угроз и вызовов национальным интересам США. Автор отмечает, что помимо привлечения внимания и преодоления двухпартийных политических разногласий, обсуждение темы изменения климата привело к "секюритизации" экологических проблем в области безопасности и обороны за счет включения климатических угроз в военную стратегию и практику внешней политики США. Лидеры США теперь признают, что глобальное изменение климата является определяющим вызовом безопасности XXI веке.
