The evolution of glasses frame design in a historical perspective: an exploration of changes in eyegles design over time and their relationship with fashion trends and technological innovations

The relevance of the study is due to the fact that regardless of whether they are made of horn, acetate, plastic, metal, laminated wood or 3D printed, glasses are the most important and visible accessory we own, reflecting technological and perceptual changes related to social norms and fashion. The article presents a study of changes in eyewear design over time and their relationship to fashion trends and technological innovation. It is concluded that glasses, like any other design object, are endowed with a special sociocultural meaning. The functional aspect of glasses allowing people to see is quite strong, but glasses have been and continue to be at the forefront of fashion and technology.
