Evolution and transformation of elegy genre in lyrical octaves of the 19th - early 20th century

The purpose of this article is to consider the main tendencies of elegy genre development in the Russian lyrics of the 19th century. The analysis of genre transformations in the literature of the 19th century allows to reveal the regularities characterizing literary process and on the whole the life of society.
