Проблема лечения послеоперационных вентральных грыж в настоящее время очень актуальна. Появление грыжевого дефекта в области перенесенного оперативного вмешательства является одним из наиболее частых отдаленных осложнений любого хирургического лечения. Методы разделения компонентов передней брюшной стенки представляют собой наиболее современный и перспективный способ лечения вентральных грыж больших размеров. В обзоре уделено внимание основным этапам развития сепарационной пластики, а также приведены результаты лечения пациентов с послеоперационными вентральными грыжами при помощи различных вариантов задней сепарационной пластики, которые широко применяются в настоящее время. Установлено, что задняя сепарационная пластика является эффективным и безопасным методом лечения, однако данных об отдаленном послеоперационном периоде и качестве жизни пациентов в настоящее время недостаточно.
