Evolution of scientific approaches to managing the socio-economic development of the Russian Far East

It has been established that in the Soviet period scientific approaches to the socio - economic development of the Far East were focused on the justification of the policy of integrating the macro - region and its industries into the system of national economic planning, rather than on the goal - oriented development of the Far Eastern territories. Since the 2000s, the theoretical approaches to managing the development of the Far East have changed and became based on theories of spatial economics, but the trend of integrating the economy of the Far East into the national priorities of the country has still remained.
