Evolution of Political Interaction between the European Union and Latin American Countries (1992–2023)

This paper presents a retrospective analysis of the interaction between the European Union and Latin American countries. The key objective was to characterize the development of relations between the European Union and Latin American countries, taking into account the interests of the parties. The relevance of the topic is due to the changing geopolitical picture: Latin America is becoming a key region for the EU’s strategic partnership, which is manifested in deep integration processes and updating trade and economic agreements against the backdrop of weakening US influence in this region and intensifying cooperation with new regions, including the Asia-Pacific. The novelty of the study is manifested in the analytical understanding of the main stages of the development of cooperation between the EU and Latin American countries with an emphasis on the analysis of modern strategic partnerships. The role of EU programs such as Global Gateway and Team Europe aimed at deepening economic and social integration is noted. The article emphasizes the importance of joint investments and dialogue focused on the environmental and digital transition, which makes the current stage of cooperation mutually beneficial and promising for both parties.
