There is analyzed one of the key concepts of the theory of entrepreneurship - "economic man". The authors show that since the initial appearance of this concept in the economic and philosophical literature, and up to the present time, the role of the rational-egoistic component has been steadily declining among the factors determining entrepreneurial activity, with the simultaneous increase in the role of social and humanitarian. The authors consider that such an evolution of the notion of "economic man" is a consequence of the complication of the model of social relations in economic theories - from the perception of society only as a simple set of independent individuals before recognition of the latter as an evolving system with a complex and branched structure.
